Draco
Draco is a light-weight minimalist theme designed specifically for showcasing a product or application. Draco is clean and simple, it is mainly decorated by shades of light blue and purple, giving a prestigious and luxurious feeling.
The most prominent feature of Draco is the immersive homepage which features an AJAX tabbed structure for users to showcase their products in an elegant way. On the other hand, Draco is still basically a normal WordPress theme, so it has all the basic features of a blog (pages, posts, commenting system, etc.) minus the bells and whistles found in more advanced themes.
Theme Features:
- AJAX tabbed structure for showcase of featured product
- Widget friendly
- Compatible with latest version WordPress as well as old versions
- Support documents provided for users to install, use and modify the theme
What do I think about this theme?
Being a minimalist theme, I don’t have much complaints with regard to its basic functions. However, I dare to say that many users would find this theme lacking of some advanced features and the design seemed to be hacked out a mill in a few-hour time apart from the AJAX tabbed structure which is elegant and attractive.
Another reason why I would not use this theme for my own site is because of its lack of focus on the blog posts. A large part of attention is drawn towards the product featured in the AJAX tabbed structure, allowing much of the blog posts, pages and categories to be ignored.
There may be people who find this theme useful, especially if they are trying hard to push a good product, I just hope the featured structure convert better than words in blog posts and pages. The single license price of $80 is a little high for a minimalist theme but I suppose the higher cost is justified by the developer allowing single license users to remove credit links from the theme footer.

Gabfire Suvi Magazine Theme
Most bloggers with news niche and magazine websites find Gabfire Premium Themes, owned by 28-year old Mehmet Özekinci, to be perfect for them. The front page of the theme includes link to all the featured articles. What struck me about this theme was the option of watching all the recent post in different categories. As a relief once you clicked on any one of the links, you will find all the featured links to be removed from the page and are going to be left with an uncluttered environment with clear sidebars.
I found their multi-column layouts and clean looks to be considerably attractive. Its balanced designing is sure to make websites uncluttered and yet display all the information. Other features of this newspaper-type layout theme, which left an impression on me, include integration of ‘Get The Image’ plug-in for automatically resizing the first uploaded post images for featured thumbnail, properly placed widgets on sidebars, Ajax Tabs for showing archives, selected video posts, popular tags and recent comments. Integrated Flickr support helps users to keep a track on all their fans in the community.
Theme Features:
- A drop down navigation, giving the theme a more website and professional feel whilst highly advancing the users navigation and maintaining its easy modification
- A well structured code which can be edited easily through CSS
- Auto Image resize for front page thumbnails
- The easy to change video post on the sidebar tab allows for full site wide viewing, making it great for adverting
- Featured area, which uses ajax tabs, giving a wider amount of information in a compact space
- Custom video template page creates a variety among the theme which shows a further professional point, giving the user a less monotonous viewing
This Theme also shows a new, tasty, fresh summer or spring look. Using both summery and cold colours creates a calming whilst authoritative style theme. Gabfire Suvi theme is a 3-column Wordpress theme and contains fully widgetized sidebars.

Gemini Theme
Most blog owners having informative domains are looking forward for a theme that makes their online real estate look less cluttered. I find Theme Galaxy’s Gemini theme perfect for those webmasters. The homepage has a Ajax-featured section, which helps you to get the direct link of all the featured content in a domain. What actually struck me about this feature was that after navigating to other pages, the featured links didn’t show up again making it less uncluttered and the whole process was very quick.
Things that I found amazing about Gemini are its simple, clean and 3-tier layout providing space to around 25 articles. Other features that impressed about this theme was its dropdown navigation menu, Ajax-featured section for articles, Integrated options for social voting and social bookmarking, Side blog options on homepage, Featured Video Sections and Ready-to-use widgets. What I felt could make this theme good for a website is that it looks incredible and can match the subject perfectly.
Theme Features:
- AJAX article rotator
- Random articles
- AJAX slider
- Post videos
- Easy to setup
- Social bookmarks
